UNIQUE CHARACTER
Portal House Apartments is located in the heart of Cracow – Holy Cross Street. In medieval times, it was home to Cracow’s breweries. Today, it is part of the route of the Cracow Technology Route, a theme trail of Cracow’s industrial heritage. The building derives its character from Cracow’s renowned architect, Antoni Dostal. It was constructed in 1931, its architecture combines the art deco style with a hint of functionalism – a very exclusive style at the time. This character has been preserved to this day. After the challenging and turbulent post-war period, the property was purchased and generally renovated by Mark Heine. Thanks to many years of work by the current owner, the property today reopens to its guests, inviting them to Portal House Apartments – a place where everyone will find a space for themselves.

Idea
When designing Portal House Apartments, we had to face the huge challenge of creating a place that would stand out from the hotel offer of Cracow. We wanted our guests to enjoy themselves from the moment they cross the door at 10 Cross Street and to gloat over the unique atmosphere of the functionalist interior.
Following an in-depth historical analysis, in cooperation with a historic preservationist and with the participation of an experienced architect, we have done our best to restore the modernist order, renovate the partially preserved design elements and at the same time create comfortable spaces in line with the contemporary requirements of our guests. This approach allowed us to achieve harmony of style, place, and time. Our interiors are authentic, and therefore in line with their concept – their primary feature is functionality.
What is the main purpose of a hotel room and what makes it different from other lodging facilities?

UNRESTRICTED RELAXATION
To ensure unrestricted relaxation, our guests should have the possibility to benefit from the hotel amenities, but above all, sufficient and possibly large breathing space. For this reason, we have planned our rooms and apartments in a way that gives each guest a sense of unrestricted comfort. This allows our guests to relax in spacious interiors, the smallest of which is 21 m². For the most demanding guests, we have also prepared luxurious apartments with full infrastructure with an area of 80 m². For the convenience of our Guests, the facility has been equipped with a modern elevator.
